Metcash's new distribution centre at RBR Hub in Truganina, Victoria, recently achieved practical completion, marking a significant milestone in sustainable development. The 114,750 sqm facility, one of Australia’s largest single-storey warehouses, is designed to meet the highest standards of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Completed by the teams at Limitless Energy Solutions and Pacific Solar, SUNLOCK has become a go-to choice for large-scale solar installations across Australia. 4777 solar panels, supported by SUNLOCK's cutting-edge East-West Fixed Tilt panel mounting system, ensures optimal surface utilisation, allowing for extended solar production throughout the day. This incredible 2.7MW installation contributes to Metcash’s goal of consuming 100% renewable electricity at the facility.

Along with its solar capabilities, the distribution centre is built with a strong focus on sustainability. The facility is targeting a 5-star Green Star Buildings rating, a testament to its environmentally conscious design. Features such as 280kL rainwater tanks, native drought-resistant landscaping, LED lighting, and 35 electric vehicle (EV) chargers further enhance its green credentials.
