ANSTO’s Australian Synchrotron
11th March, 2024 - RACV Solar’s Largest Victorian Installation
SUNLOCK is honoured to be a part of RACV Solar’s largest installation in Victoria, situated at ANSTO’s Australian Synchrotron in Clayton. This landmark project represents a significant advancement in sustainable energy initiatives, showcasing the power of collaboration and cutting-edge technology.
ANSTO (Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation) is a leading scientific research institution, with the Australian Synchrotron being a world-class facility that plays a critical role in various fields of scientific research.
The project features over 3,000 solar panels, all supported by SUNLOCK’s robust solar mounting system, spanning an impressive 6,600 square meters. The 1.6MWp installation not only marks a major achievement for RACV Solar but also underscores SUNLOCK’s commitment to providing reliable, high-performance mounting solutions for large-scale solar projects.
The impact of this installation extends far beyond its physical size. It is expected to reduce ANSTO’s carbon footprint by over 1,680 tonnes annually—equivalent to the energy required to illuminate the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for more than five years. This reduction represents a critical step forward in ANSTO’s journey toward a more sustainable and cleaner energy future.
